I didn’t dye my hair pink to make a statement.
Not at first.
It actually didn’t happen until years after I finished chemo, surgery, and radiation.
By then, life had moved on — at least, on the surface.
But deep down, I was still picking up the pieces.
One day, I grabbed a box of pink dye on impulse.
And what I didn’t expect was how much power was tucked inside that little bottle.
Why Pink?
Pink is the color most people associate with breast cancer.
But when I chose it, it wasn’t about ribbons or awareness.
It was about taking something that had once defined me — and flipping it into something I owned.
It felt soft and bold.
Strong and fun.
A little rebellious. A little healing.
Why I Didn’t Do It Sooner
After treatment, I was focused on surviving — parenting, healing, trying to get back to normal (whatever that means). I also didn't have much hair yet..
I didn’t have the energy to think about reclaiming anything. For a long time, I didn’t feel like myself. But eventually… something shifted.
I wasn’t trying to get back to who I used to be.
I was ready to embrace who I’d become.
That’s when the pink happened.

My Favorite Pink Hair Dye
Over the years, I’ve tried a few shades.
Some faded too fast. Some dried my hair out. Some were TOO pink.
But the one I keep going back to is this:
👉 Punky - Cherry on Top Hair Dye
Why I love it:
• It gives a vibrant pink without being too neon
• The formula is gentle and doesn’t fry my hair
• It’s easy to use at home (which is important when you’re juggling chaos)
• And honestly… it just makes me feel like a badass
🛍️ Extras I recommend:
• Gloves

Why I Still Do It
I don’t do it for attention.
I don’t do it because I’m a survivor trying to prove something.
✨I do it because it reminds me who I am.
✨I do it because it brings me joy.
✨I do it because healing isn’t one moment — it’s ongoing.
Every time I dye my hair pink, I’m taking a little piece of myself back.
If You’re Somewhere in the Middle…
Maybe you’re still in it.
Maybe you’re years past the worst of it, but something still feels… off.
Maybe you’re ready to feel bold again — or maybe you’re just curious what pink hair feels like.
Either way, this is your permission:
Do it when you’re ready. And only if you want to.
